A Catalytic Polarographic Wave of Chromium and Its Application to the Determination of Cr(Ⅵ) and Cr (Ⅲ)

In a supporting electrolyte containing As (Ⅲ) and NH_4C1·NH_3H_2O, this paper obtained a sensitive hydrocatalytic polarographic wave of chromium (Ⅵ or Ⅲ)[1].The complex of Cr ( H_2AsO_3 ) _n~(+3-n) is formed in the reaction of leectrolytes, and the reducting state of this complex on a mercury-dropping electrode is of catalytic activity[2]. Under the conditions described in this paper, the concentration calibration curve is linear within a range of 2×10~(-8) to 2×10~(-7)MCr (Ⅵ).And its limit of detection for Cr(Ⅵ)is 2×10~(-8)M.This hydrocatalytic wave is applied to the determination of micro-amount of Cr (Ⅵ) and Cr (Ⅲ) in tap water.
