A Study on the Process for Preparing Oxalic Acid from Broom Corn Millet Shell byHydrolysis-Oxidation-Hydrolysis

The preparation process of oxalic acid from broom corn millet shell by hydrolysis-Oxidation-hydrolysis was investigated. The results showed that the optimum conditions were: the concentration of sulphuric acid was 70%, soak time≥3h, nitric acid: broom corn millet shellxatalyst (mass ratio)=2.24:1: 0.002, reaction temperature was 65-70℃, and reaction time was 5h. The yield of oxalic acid dihydrate was 85.5%, the purity was 99.5%. The concentration of sulfuric acid, soak time, amount of nitric acid, amount of catalyst, reaction time and temperature affected the yield of products.
