GEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND PROSPECTING POTENTIAL OF HACIWEIQI DEPOSIT IN MOGOLIA

Haciwaqi copper deposit,located in the south Gobi metallogenic zone of Mongolia,is divided into 2 ore blocks as south and north block.Copper mineralization mainly occurred within internal porphyry body and contact zone between rock body and wall rock secondly,which is controlled by 2 series NE-striking faults of F2 and F4.Ore-bearing lithology is granite diorite porphyry,host structure is structural fracture,and alterations of country include potassic alteration,silicification,chloritization and propylitization,with the typical alteration zon-ing of porphyry copper.Through analyzing regional geological settings and metallogenic features of mine,and the composite results from geochemical and geophysical exploration,deep drill engineering,it is supposed that there is a potential for prospecting copper in this area.
