Effects of Acetylsalicylic Acid on the Postharvest Senescence Process and Ethylene Biosynthesis of Yulu Peach Fruit

The fruit of Yulu peach variety Prunus persica(L.)B at sch.were used for studying the effects of acetylsalicylic acid(ASA,1.0mm ol/L,pH3.5)treatment on the changes of LOX activities,superoxide radical ()production,and ethylene biosynthesis.Results showed that the changes of LO X activities,production,ACC synthase and ACC oxidase activities and ethylene b iosynthesis were appeared peak-trend,fruit firmness decreased and tissue elect ric conductivity in-creased after postharvest.ASA treatment inhibited LOX act ivities,slowed down production,suppressed ACC synthase and ACC oxidase activit ies and ethylene biosynthesis,retarded ethylene production,maintained higher f irmness and cell membrane integrity,delayed the process of fruit ripening and s enescence.
