In order to provide a reference for breeding, the characteristics of Juglans regia L.in Linzhi,Tibet were investigated four populations and 10 families of Juglans regia L.and J.sigillata Dode were involved in the research, including Long County(LX1-4),Milin County(ML7-8),Linzhi County(LZ5-6),Bomi County(BM9-10) in Linzhi zone.Leaf type, phenotypes of different populations and nut features were analyzed. The results showed that the ratio of length and width of parietal lobe of LX2 was the maximum, but that of ML7 was the minimum.Compound leaf length and width ratio of LZ5 was the largest and that of BM10 was the minimum. The length of compound leaf of ML7was,the longest, but that of BM1 was the shortest.Nut weight was in order of BM LX ML LZ.Ratio of kernel and nut was in order of LX ML LZ BM and shell thickness was in order of BM LZ ML LX.The ratio of longitudinal and transversal diameter of BM9 nut was the maximum, and that of,LX1 was the smallest. The results suggested that Long County walnut was a good pedigree for breeding, and J.sigillata Dode of Bomi County maintained high genetic diversity which was good for selection and breeding.
