Application of super FEC in ultra-long-haul optical transmission system

ZHANG Qiang, XI Shen-e, YANG Ming, YANG Zhu (FiberHome Telecommunication Technologies Co.,Ltd., Wuhan 430074, China)  
The experiment results of super FEC which was applied in 160×10 Gbit/s optical transmission system over 3 040 km on (G.652)fiber is described in this paper.We analyzed the improvement of super FEC in terms of both BER and optical penalty, and compared super FEC with standard FEC in OSNR requirement in WDM ultra long-haul system.
