A method for E1/SDH mapping with shared RAM

E1 is a typical service in SDH networks, and E1/SDH mapping is needed nearly by every SDH equipment. In this paper, based on the analysis of SDH frame and E1 mapping mechanism, a novel method is proposed for implementing E1 mapping. It utilizes TDM and shared RAM to minimize FIFO and logic resources, which helps implemention of E1 mapping in access equipments at low cost.
