Cu-C Electric Contact Friction Materials

The technology of repressing and re-sintering in powder metallurgy had been used to fabricate a(c)Cu-C) composite materials attaining above 95% of the theoretical density. The microstructure, physical and mechanical properties of the Cu-C composite materials were studied. The results indicate that the density of the Cu-C alloys can be improved by repressing and re-sintering technology. The carbon distribution in microstructure is different in different directions either along pressing direction or perpendiculari to pressing direction. When the content in the a(c)Cu-C) material is 5 weight percent, the material can obtain more excellent performance.
