Solid-liquid Mixed Die-casting of Al-10%Cr Alloy

Solid-liquid mixed die-casting technology was applied to prepare Al-10%Cr alloy.The microstructure and properties were studied by means of optical microscopy,densimeter and sclerometer etc.The results show that the grains can be obviously refined with near-spherical shape and the density is 2.924 g·cm-3.The optimum properties after hot extrusion were σb=119 MPa,σ0.2=89 MPa,δ=1%,and the wear rate was 16.9 mg·m-1,which were preferable to those alloys with the same chemical composition prepared by conventional casting and semi-solid casting.Thus,the Al10%Cr alloy has the possibility to be used in the industry.
