Preparation of MoS_2 Nanorods by Liquid Phase Reduction Method

MoS2 nanorods were successfully prepared by liquid phase reduction method with sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate(SDBS) and polyethylene glycol(PEG) as surfactants at low temperature.The microstructure and chemical compositions of the as-obtained samples were studied by X-ray diffraction(XRD),infrared spectrum(IR) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)equiped with EDAX energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer analysis(EDS).It has been found that the MoS2 nanorods had a perfect rod-like shape with length of 400 nm and diameter of 30 nm,and modified by PEG and SDBS.As a result of the synergistic effect between SDBS and PEG,a template-oriented growth mechanism on coated matrix was proposed.
