Microstructure and Tensile Properties of Fixed Bobbin Friction Stir Welding Joint of 6061 Aluminum Alloy Plate with Thickness of 3 mm

Fixed bobbin friction stir welding process was used to weld 6061 aluminum alloy plates with thickness of 3 mm,and microstructure and tensile properties of joint were studied.The results show that good microstructure of weld seam was obtained under the process parameters of rotation speed of 1 500 r·min-1 and welding rate of 120 mm·min-1,and the tensile strength of welded joint was 162.49 MPa.Obvious oxide entrapment appeared in cross section of welded seam because 6061 aluminum alloy was easy to be oxidized in air.
