The Successful Practice of Hoisting Steel Arch Bridge with Bailey Trussed Girder

DONG Shan-wu, DONG Yu-chu(Yulin Highway Administration Department, Yulin, Guangxi, 537000,china)  
Bailey trussed girder is a kind of material for war preparations and is under the management of highway departments with full set of equipment and low cost, which can be used as a replacement of thick ropes. The construction approach is to use the cantilever launching method of the Bailey trussed girder to conduct the hoisting of the steel arch bridge with simple low-speed hoister and manual mini-cranes. The adoption of Bailey trussed girder as the way of hoisting steel arch bridge is a better option when the support of bridge is hard to be installed or the hoisting cost is too high.
