α-Glucosidase and Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitory Potency of Extract from Rhizome of Ficus pumila L.

The extracts obtained from rhizome of Ficus pumila L.were evaluated for its yield of total flavonoids by standard sample rutin.Theirα-glucosidase and acetylcholinesterase(AChE)inhibitory potency were also explored by the 96-micro-plate-based method.The result showed that the total flavonoids content of the extracts ranged from 0.8%to 7.1%and the extracts had high inhibitory activity towardα-glucosidase and AChE with IC_(50) values are up to 0.018g/L and 0.133g/L respectively.A clear correlation between the total flavonoids content andα-glucosidase inhibitory activity was found.
