A Novel Magneto Optic Modulator

Guo Jihua Zhu Zhaoming Deng Weimin (Department of Modern Applied Physics, Tsinghua University, Beijing 100084) (Received 1 June 1998; revised 5 October 1998)  
A novel magneto optical modulator is presented. This kind of modulator can effectively reduce the temperature rise and thus reduce the magneto optical drift. Its performance is demonstrated in the polarization test, and the measuring resolution of 3.3×10 -7 rad and the long term stability error of 1.7×10 -6 rad are achieved.
