Analysis of the Residual Servo Variance for an Adaptive Optics System

The relationship between residual servo variance and control bandwidth of an adaptive optics system is discussed.For a system with time delay,a approximate formula for calculating the residual servo variance is derived.The formula to calculate the optimal control bandwidth of a system with measurement noise is given.For an example,the problem of choosing the optimal control bandwidth of the61elementadaptive optics system is discussed.
