STUDY ON QUATERNARY ACTIVITIES OF THE QINGSHAN-XIAOTIAN FAULT IN THE EASTERN DABIE REGION

Through the linear image analysis of satellite remote sensing images in the study area and the detailed field investigation work along the Qingshan-Xiaotian fault,it was found that the landforms along the fault line are characterized by linear negative terrain,mountain pass,cliff,etc. The impact on the landforms since the late Quaternary was not significant. Two typical sections exposed were described and analyzed. The test results of the collected fault material samples were( 274 ± 33) ka BP. Comprehensive analysis showed that the Qingshan-Xiaotian faults were active in the early-middle Pleistocene.
