A PREDICTION METHOD OF GEOMAGNETIC LOW-POINT DISPLACEMENT AND THE MODERATE EARTHQUAKES IN QINGHAI PROVINCE

Based on the analysis and study of the appearance time of minimum diurnal variation of geomagnetic vertical component using the deta recorded by Xining and Geermu Geomagnetic Stations in Qinghai province for 7 years, the corresponding relationship between the low--point displacement anomaly and ML≥5. 0 earthquakes in Qinghai province was discussed. The results Show that: the causative date of 72% earthquakes is four days around the 27th day or 41at day after the abnormal date; the causative area can be decided roughly using the data recorded by some sautions; the low-point displacement anomaly which epicentral distance is relatively near or far isn't clear. This predictionmethod can make short - imminent prediction for some moderately strong earthquakes in Qinghaiprovince.
