EXPERIMENT AND SCHEME OF STATISTICAL ASSIMILATION OF DATA IN TIBETAN PLATEAU AND ITS SURROUNDINGS

Huang Min Luo Siwei (Lanzhou Institute of Plateau Atmospheric Physics, Academia Sinica)  
In this paper a preliminary scheme of statistical assimilation for height and wind field on 500 hPa in Tibetan Plateau is given by use of Cressman's successive correction and truncation principle of expansion of empirical orthogonal function ( EOF ) and is applied to correct the FGGEⅢb data in the area of Tibetan Plateau and to separate circulation scale.Based on this a 24 h numerical experiment has been performed and it proves preliminarily that this method is worthy to be applied in certain degree.
