A Comparison between Chinese and Western Ways in Dealing with Time Infirmities in Their Aesthetic Education

Huang Xianchun(Department of the Chinese Language and Literature,Guizhou University,Guiyang, Guizhou,550025)
The Chinese culture reflects a highly developed practical reason but an under-developed theoretical reason. The Western culture displays the fact that the theoretical reason occupies a dominant position and the practical reason occupies a weak position. Therefore when we try to draw lessons from Western aesthetic education,we must consider our particular time infirmities and never to copy Western ways without discrimination. In carrying on our tradition of aesthetic education,we should clearly see its insufficiency and should not stick to old ways.To develop people with innovative ability depends on the development of their theoretical reason. Therefore, the task of our aesthetic education is to promote such a development.
