Double Suction Straining Coating Method for the Preparation of Packed Column of Gas-liquid Chromatography

A new procedure which is called double suction straining coating method for the preparation of gas-liquid chromatographic stationary phase was reported.The result of the study showed that at the percentage(mass of liquid phase/mass of support)of 1%,2% and 3%,the analytical speed and the HETP(height equivalent to theoretical plate)of the column prepared by the double suction straining coating method are always higher than those prepared by the suction and evaporation method.At the percentage of 1%,2% and 3%,the analytical speed of the two columns prepared by the new coating method is 10%,20%and 26% faster than the columns prepared by the compared coating method respectively and HETPs of the two new columns are 12%,5%,12% lower than the compared columns.At the percentage of 5 % and 7%,there are no apparent difference between the two compared methods. The chromatographic condition is H2 Carrier gas,6201 red support(60~80 mesh),Apiezon-L stationary phase,stainless steel column(1 m×3 mm i.d.),TCD detector and the mixture of test sample of n-hexane,n-heptane,n-octane and n-nonane.
