Selection of Suitable Container Size of Eggplant in Root-controlling Container

In order to select suitable container size in the eggplant cultivation of the root-controlling container,eggplant cultivation experiment was performed in 30 cm ×30 cm(diameter×height),40 cm×40 cm,40 cm×50 cm and 50 cm ×50 cm root-controlling container,cultivated eggplant shoot and root growth, root vigor, chlorophyll content,net photosynthetic rate and yield were analyzed and compared. The results showed that the larger container had more obvious advantages in shoot and root growth,root activity,chlorophyll content,the net photosynthetic rate and yield,but the plant density was limited due to the large container size,the yield per unit area was significantly lower than that of other specifications. Considering plant growth and yield,40 cm ×40 cm and 40 cm×50 cm container sizes were suitable for eggplant in the root-controlling container.
