Research Progress on the Treatment of Heary Metals in Water by Biological Carbon Composites

Biochar has high specific surface area,pore structure and abundant surface functional groups,biochar has great prospect in the treatment of water pollutants due to its characteristics. In recent years,more and more scholars began to study the preparation of biochar composite materials. Through physical and chemical methods to modify biochar to improve the adsorption capacity for heavy metals in solution. This article summarized the characteristics of biochar,the modification methods of biochar and adsorption mechanism for heavy metals. The future research directions of biochar adsorbents are also proposed in order to provide a reference for the largescale application of biochar materials.
