Preparation and Property Study on Nano-SiO_2/Al_2O_3 Composite in Glaze

The research focuses on the influence of sodium hexame taphospha on the dispersion of nano- Si O2 and nano-Al2O3 in water and glaze, and its effects on bone china products were investigated, in which absorbance, rheology of glaze, sintering temperature, hydrophobicity were used to characterize the aqueous and glaze systems and born china products. The results indicated that the optimal dispersion conditions of both nano- Si O2 and nano-Al2O3 in aqueous systems were as follows 0.25% sodium hexame taphospha, 0.5% nanopowder, and p H=10. And in glaze systems, 0.25% of sodium hexame taphospha, 2% nanopowder, p H=10 and 200 m L of glaze. The born china products were produced with the optimal glaze systems. The sintering temperature was decreased by 30℃, and the surface changed from hydrophilic to hydrophobic.
