A Comparative Study of Infrared and Visible Image Fusion Methods

Fusion infrared and visible light is a hot issue in image fusion,and its fusion methods are constantly advancing.In this paper,five fusion methods,namely,Laplasse Pyramid(LP) method,discrete wavelet transform(DWT),dual tree complex wavelet transform(DTDWT),curvelet transform(CVT)and Nonsubsampled Contourlet transform(NSCT),are tested,and the objective evaluation method without using reference images is used for analysis,and the optimum fusion method is obtained.The experimental results show that the Laplasse Pyramid(LP) method has the best objective evaluation performance,and the fused image with the best comprehensive index can be obtained.
