Study on the Effects of Chromium (Cr+3)on DNA Damaging in Carp (Carassius auratus)Kidney Cells
Zhao Shou Cheng Zhang Juan (Dept.of Cell Biology .North-China Coal Medical College)
Using single cell gel - eletrophoresis (or comet assay)this paper presents the effects of chronium(Cr+3)on DNA breaks in.carp(Carassius auratus)kidney cells. The results show that a highly significant increase in DNA migration in DNA-damaged carp kidney cells was induced by three concentrations of chromium(Cr+3)compared with control (P 0. 01). The percentage of DNA-damaged carp kidney cells was also increased. It is suggested that chromium can induce DNA damage and has toxic effect on carp kidney cells
