Discussion of twisting process of 1 100 dtex PET tire cord on a direct twisting machine

PET tire cord was prepared from 1 100 dtex PET technical yarn by twisting on a direct twisting machine. The compound-twist tire cord with breaking strength higher than 145 N and the irregularity of breaking strength and elongation at break less than 1% can be produced under the conditions of spindle speed 8 000 r/min, number of twists 440 T/m,outer yarn tension 65% , overfeed ratio 5% and pattern breaking angle (20±1) °. The direct twisting process yielded product quality and economic benefit much higher than second-twisting process.
