Evaluation of uncertainty in titanium content determination for PET chips

The uncertainty in spectrophotometric measurement of titanium content for PET chips was evaluated. The effects of the repeatability of the measurement method, sample quality, standard titrimetric solution and room temperature on the uncertainty were analyzed. The results showed that the standard uncertainty in determination was 0.011% and the expanded uncertainty was 0.022% when the mass fraction of titanium in polyester was 0. 19%. The repeatability of the measurement method had the greatest effect on the relative uncertainty of the measurement results.
