Study on dynamic viscoelasticity of anti-dripping and flame-retardant polypropylene and spinning temperature

Anti-dripping and flame-retardant polypropylene chips can be produced by adding hindered amine flame retardant into polypropylene/montmorillonite (PP/MMT) nano-composite. The dynamic viscoelaslicity test showed that the storage modulus of the PP/MMT nano-composite was improved considerably at low frequency when the mass fraction of the flame retardant was 1% , thus the solid-like rheological behavior of anti-dripping and flame-retardant polypropylene became more obvious. The net structure gradually formed inside anti-dripping and flame-retardant polypropylene along with the addition of MMT and had an increasing effect on the spinning temperature. The satisfied spinnability can be achieved by properly decreasing the spinning temperature according to the net structure.
