Analysis of overload protection failure of PET melt booster pump

The reasons for overload protection failure of PET melt booster pump were analyzed, such as failure damage, pump shaft breakage, connecting shaft failure of torque limiter, friction pair sliding. The pre-fastening torque was calculated theoretically for the torque limiter. The experimental results showed that the pre-fastening torque was decided according to the theoretical value so that the safety of melt booster pump can be guaranteed effectively and the sliding of friction pair can be avoided under normal load.
