Development of β-crystalline polypropylene microporous fiber

The effects of cooling rate,spinning speed andβcrystal nucleating agent onβcrystal content ofβ-crystalline polypropylene as-spun fiber were studied.The difference between two measurement methods of determiningβcrystal content were compared.The results showed that the higher the cooling rate,the lower the linear density,the higher the spinning speed,the lower theβcrystal content.Differentβcrystal nucleating agents were affected by the spinning speed in different degree.The nucleating agent B of rare earth complex was affected greater than the nucleating agent A of amide compound by the spinning speed. The as-spun fiber containing nucleating agent B had theβcrystal content up to 45%and the drawn fiber appeared some micropores when the spinning speed was 91 m/min and the linear density was 55.6 dtex.
