Numerical simulation of wave-current tanks

Coexistence of wave and current generates a complex nonlinear interaction,which is much more complex than pure wave problems or pure current problems. Based on the incompressible fluid N-S equation,a mathematical model was built,adopt VOF method to track the free surface,add source terms in the momentum equation to make wave damp,and use software platform FLUENT and UDF programs to simulate the wave-uniform current as well as the wave-shear flow numeric tanks. The interaction of uniform current and wave is analyzed;when the current and the wave is in the same direction,the waveform becomes longer,the wave amplitude lower,and its impacts will be opposite in a contrary condition. Besides,the paper explores the effects of shear flow on the wave,and gives the fitting functions to the result.
