Numerical simulation for longitudinal ship launching with ship-airbags

Based on momentum and force equilibrium,a numerical program to simulate the whole launching process of the ship with slipway or with airbag is developed. At first,a large bulk carrier launched with slipway is calculated by both the program and commercial software FORAN. The results are in good accord with each other. Then,the program is used to simulate the same ship launching with airbags. It is convenient to check dangerous working conditions,hull floating state,and so on. The results got from the program are verified with published data. It is proved to be able to discover the main features during the launching process and ensure the launching process safety.
