Study on the structure of new sandwich double bulkhead of ship under penetration load

Under the penetration of high speed fragments,the double bulkhead structure of ships can better play a protective role,and a reasonable set of sandwich type between double bulkheads is beneficial to improving antipenetration properties. In this paper,the anti-penetration performance of X-,Y- and V-type sandwich double bulkhead structures were studied,and comparative analysis was made by taking the residual velocity of fragments and bulkhead energy absorption as the criteria. The results show that,under the same fragments,we can get the smallest residual velocity of fragments and the largest bulkhead energy absorption while the fragments penetrate the Y-type sandwich double bulkhead structure when we make the weakest place of the bulkhead as the target of the fragment. For the X-type sandwich double bulkhead structure,the residual velocity takes the second place,and so does the bulkhead energy absorption. For the V-type sandwich double bulkhead structure,the residual velocity is the largest and the bulkhead energy absorption is the smallest. Therefore,among the structure of X-,Y-and V-type sandwich double bulkheads,Y-type sandwich double bulkhead structure has the best anti-penetration properties.
