Basic function testing of cryopreserved arteries

The maintaining of the basic function of arteries after frozen-thawed is of great influence on transplantation. In the paper, it is estimated whether the preservation protocol effect is preferable or not by testing the basic function of arteries after cryopreservation. The relaxation function of the cryostored arteries is assessed using specific endothelium-dependent vasodilators and the changes of arteries in vascular smooth muscle contractile tone are assessed using norepinephrine. All the testing data are compared to those obtained with fresh tissues. The conclusion is that the higher the cooling rate is, the less basic function of arteries is maintained and the survival of relaxation function is better than that of contraction function.
