Gene expression analysis of overexpression OsAtg8a transgenic rice plants under carbon starvation and salt stress

In order to explore the role of Os Atg8 a in the process of carbon starvation and salt stress in rice,overexpression Os Atg8 a plants were obtained by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. During the treatment of carbon starvation for 0,8,16,24 and 48 h,expression levels of Os Atg1 a,Os Atg4 a,Os Atg8 a,Os Atg13 a,Os Atg16 a and Os TOR in the transgenic plants were significantly higher than that in the control at 48 h. Under the treatment of 250 mmol/L Na Cl salt stress for 4 h,Os Atg8 a and Os Atg16 a expression levels of transgenetic plants were much higher than that of control. The expression of Os Atg8 a was 36 times higher than that of wild type. The result of autophagy-related genes expression increased significantly in the overexpression Os Atg8 a transgenic plants under the conditions of carbon starvation and high salt concentration indicated that Os Atg8 a gene plays an important role in rice abiotic stress resistance.
