Preparation and catalytic performance of Bi_4V_2O_(11) photocatalysts

The photocatalyst Bi_4V_2O_(11) was prepared by hydrothermal method. The structures,morphology and specific surface area of Bi_4V_2O_(11) were analyzed by SEM,XRD and BET. The results showed that Bi_4V_2O_(11) degraded Rh B almost completely under 60 min visible light irradiation. The higher photocatalytic activity of Bi_4V_2O_(11) might be attributed to its large specific surface area and narrow band gap and smaller nanometer size. In addition,the photocatalytic mechanism of Bi_4V_2O_(11) was studied by the experiment of trapping experiments.Moreover,repeated experiments showed that Bi_4V_2O_(11) degradation of Rh B had a strong stability.
