Preparation and hydrogen production of a highly active RuMo@UIO-67 supported catalyst

The bimetallic RuMo@UIO-67( Zr) supported catalysts with different Ru/Mo molar ratios have been successfully synthesized by a simple liquid impregnation-reduction method used as generating hydrogen from the hydrolysis of ammonia borane( AB) at room temperature. And the structure,composition,morphology and size of metal load of the catalysts are characterized by XRD,SEM,TEM,XPS,ICP-AES techniques in detail. The results show that the Ru_1Mo_(0.5)@ UIO-67 catalyst exhibits the highest catalytic activity than its other compositions,with the turn over frequency( TOF) values of 590. 1 mol H_2 min~(-1)( molRu)~(-1) and the activation energies( Ea) is determined to be 38. 7 k J mol~(-1). The excellent catalytic activity can be attributed to the strong bimetallic synergistic effect between Ru and Mo nanoparticles,as well as bi-functional effect between Ru Mo NPs and the host of UIO-67.
