The thermal property of metal nanoparticles prepared by solution route is different from that by melt spinning or ball milling route, which is mainly determined by the surface characteristics rather than the size of nanoparticles. Based on the study of the melting and freezing point depression of tin nanoparticles, a novel double-particle model mechanism is proposed to elucidate the thermal phenomenon.
