Damage Evaluation of Reinforced Concrete Beams

A damage index of concrete based on the decline of stiffness is established ,which can be directly expressed with strain. The general relations between the bending moment and deformation of the beam cross-section, and those between the damage and deformation of the beam cross-section are set up. This method is found feasible and close to reality by analyzing the whole damage process of simply supported reinforced concrete beams, which have different reinforcement ratios and loads.
