Design and Implementation of RS Decoder for CMMB System

Based on the syndrome computation,modified Euclidean algorithm,Chien's-searching and Forney algorithm,a novel RS decoder for CMMB system is proposed and realized.The RS decoding algorithm is simulated with MATLAB,and then the decoder is functionally verified and synthesized with tools of VCS,Design Compiler and ISE,respectively.The results show that the gate count of our design is as small as the best structure.Our proposed RS decoder has been tested and applied in a CMMB system.
