An Edge Detection Algorithm Based on Kirsch Method and Canny Idea

Canny operator is an operator with ideas of optimization,which has higher detection accuracy in detecting the edge of the image.Since this operator is easily affected by the noise of image,it is essential to filter out the noise by Gaussian filter.Kirsch operator has the ability to suppress noise,but it is unable to obtain single pixel edge of the image by detection.This paper analyzed the defects of original non-maximum suppression judging condition,proposed a new condition of judging non-maximum suppression,and combined Canny operator idea and Kirsch operator to effectively suppress noise while obtaining single pixel edge of the image.The data and experimental results analysis indicated the effectiveness of combined algorithm.
