On Sima-Qian's Liberal Economic Thoughts and his Attitude towards Confucian-Taoist School

Ma Tao (Institute of Economics, Fudan Vniversity,Shanghai 200433, China )
Sima-Qian's economic thought is well-known for his liberal economic theory. In the point of view of the academic circles,Sima-Qian's economic theory stemmed from Taoist School. With adequate documents, the author expounds and proves that Sima-Qian's economic theory, which succeeded Confucius and Mencius's liberal economic thought, originated from Pre-Qin Confucian economic thoughts. This article also discriminates between Sima-Qian's attitude towards Confucian school and Taoist school.
