Thereinterpretations on the concept of “class”of Feuerbach——A new perspective of Marx's thought transformation

TIAN Yuan;Department of Philosophy,Tsinghua University;
Feuerbach's philosophy is one of the important ideological sources of Marx's philosophy. Feuerbach's "class"conceptplayed an important role in the process of the formation of the concept of "society"of Marx. Feuerbach tried to transform the three in one'in the Christian doctrine,and then formed the"class"concept system based on the relationship between "I"and "you". Feuerbach believed that the concept of "class"refers to the nature of man; on the other hand,"class"means the collection of all the other individuals except "I". In the "On the Jewish question","Paris Manuscripts"and other works,we can see that Feuerbach's "class"had a great influence on Marx's early thought. But from the period of "Comments on Mill",Marx started to replace the concept of "class"with the concept of "society".The fundamental difference between Marx's "society"and Feuerbach's "class"lies in the differencesin composition principle. On the other hand,Marx's concept of "society"inherently contains the two dimensions of the concept of "class". Marx realized the transition to the new philosophyby means ofreplacing the concept of "class"with the concept of "society".
