A Unique Black Feminism: Comment on Morrison's Writings

DONG Xiao-ye(Beijing Foreign Studies University,Beijing 100089,China)
In her forty-year's creation,Toni Morrison constantly concerns black females. Her nine novels make a grand narrative,a story of black women's suffering and salvation under the pressure of gender, race and culture. The research on Morrison in China focuses on themes of individual works rather than their references, the former seven novels more than the last two,the author's writing creation but no her critical contribution to the theory of black feminism.Based on the theories of narratology and black feminism and focusing on Morrison's creation themes, this paper tries to find the references of her creation themes in a macro perspective and to analyze Morrison's contribution to the construction of black feminism.
