Mother Tongue Transfer in English Sentences of Four Types Acquisition by Buyi Students

This study researches into the influence of mother tongue on the acquisition of L3,namely English,by Buyi students,who are the native speakers of Buyi language.The survey shows that Buyi language's syntactic structures contribute either positive transfer or negative transfer to English sentences of four types acquisition by Buyi students;meanwhile Chinese language,as L2,has a certain positive transfer in that process of acquisition of L3,and to bring down the extent of mother tongue's negative transfer.This study will change the current situation in which Buyi students think of English as L2 to study,and it will be significant to the improvement of Buyi students' studying English effect.
