A soil and rock mass quality estimation method for Fujian highway slopes

To rapidly and accurately assess the stability of Fujian highway slopes whose tops are composed of soil and foots are of rock,and the partial sliding phenomenon after excavation or after and before support,based on limit equilibrium method,this paper presents a soil and rock mass quality estimation method.For the first time,the soil and rock mass quality estimation were put together to evaluate the slope stability,which expanded the scope of rock mass classification system.One hundred and two slopes along seven highways in Fujian province were used to verify the suitability and accuracy of this method.The soil and rock mass quality estimation method enriches the theoretical system of slope stability,and provides a new approach to the stability assessment of soil and rock slopes.
