Research on the Distribution of Sinorhizobium meliloti in Northern Cold Grassland Soil

The effect of Rhizobium inoculation applied to the soil is influenced by the number of indigenous rhizobia. MPN method was used to research the number of indigenous Rhizobium meliloti distribution in a variety of cold grassland soil in different regions of Daqing. Results showed that: in the non-alfalfa-growing area, the number of indigenous Rhizobium meliloti was 100 to 10 000 / g, while in the alfalfa-growing area, the number of was 100,000 to 3 million/g. Obviously, cold northern grassland soils have low levels of indigenous Rhizobium meliloti and Rhizobium inoculation is an important alfalfa farming technology for the development of alfalfa growing for such areas.
