Configuration and Performance of Circumfluent Hydrocyclone

Four different configuration of circumfluent hydrocyclone have been studied. Their pressure drop and collection efficiency are measured using sand-water mixture as feed material. Experimental results showed that the circumfluent hydrocyclone with a separate column has the highest collection efficiency and the lowest pressure drop. According to grade efficiency curve, particles less than diameter 5μm has a larger collection efficiency than of 7.5μm particles.
