A New Catalytic Kinetic Spectrophotometric Determination of Trace Manganese

A new catalytic kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace manganese has been developed in HAc-NaAc(pH=4.7)buffer solution.This method is based on the catalytic oxidation of RhB by manganese in the presence of NTA as an activator.The detection limit is 2.11×10-8 g/L and the linear range of determination is 2～16 μg/L for Mn(Ⅱ).This method has been successfully applied to determine the trace manganese in water samples and manganese in the solution of oil orange.
