Study on Drying Processes of High Reinforcing Silica from Amination of Fluosilicic Acid

High reinforcing white carbon black is prepared from phosphate fertilizer by-product fluosilicic acid. Influence of drying methods, including oven drying, vacuum drying, spray drying and solvent exchange drying on the specific surface area and size of silica white are studied in order to obtain a silica white of low agglomeration and good quality. Experimental results indicate that solvent exchange drying can prevent silica white from forming hard agglomerate, the silica white obtained through solvent exchange drying is small in size and large in specific surface area. Meanwhile hard agglomeration mechanism of silica white among the four drying processes is also discussed.
